Hello dear polyfriends :) Sorry I have not been on much this past week, I have been extremely busy! Here is a retro set for a beach vacation, for those long days in the sun when it's warm enough for just a swimsuit and coverup :)
If people with the style and grace of Audrey Hepburn were the trendsetters of today, I would probably pay more attention to current trends :) This is a set for her wonderful 1953 movie “Roman Holiday”, one of my favourites, and the radiant Audrey’s Academy Award-winning role as Princess Ann. The frustrated princess makes a brief incognito escape to have some fun while in Rome, and falls in love with Gregory Peck’s reporter Joe Bradley, who knows her secret identity and is after an exclusive for his newspaper, at least to begin with! Much fun, charm, and hilarity ensues, with a wonderful on-location Roman setting :-) Love this film!
I love that balmy evening breeze you feel right on the beach in tropical places...and I've always loved teal with purple...it makes me think of tropical waters and tropical flowers :).
This set is for my lovely polyfriend, loveandpoprocks, who made me this adorable set: http://www.polyvore.com/somewhere_beyond_sea_for_seashopper/set?id=19719409 I made her this Venice themed set because I discovered from her sets that it’s her favourite place :) I can understand why - I absolutely love Venice too! This is a set of the annual Carnevale di Venezia :) I hope you like this set, loveandpoprocks :) And I hope you get to go back to beautiful Venice again soon!
I must down to the seas again, to the lonely sea and the sky, And all I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by, And the wheel's kick and the wind's song and the white sail's shaking, And a grey mist on the sea's face, and a grey dawn breaking. ~ from “Sea Fever” by John Masefield
This set is a tribute to two of my great loves – the ocean, and sailing. I especially love traditional boats and tall ships.
